New Road and Lights!!! 07-22 & 07-23, 2023

As of July 21, 2023, CalTrans continues its repair efforts on State Route 84 near Woodside, San Mateo County, following the slide damage that occurred on March 9, 2023. The affected section of the highway, between Foxhill Road and Portola Road, remains closed to motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists.

Significant progress has been made in the repair work. The section of the road scheduled to open for one-way traffic on July 31, 2023, has been fully paved, ensuring a smoother and safer passage for vehicles. In addition to the pavement, center line reflectors have been installed, enhancing visibility and guiding drivers along the road east of CA-35.

To improve the safety and aesthetics of the area, vegetation management has been completed along the entire length east of CA-35.

As the repair efforts continue to advance, the construction team is preparing to shift its focus to work on the section of CA-84 west of CA-35. This demonstrates their commitment to efficiently address the damage across the entire affected stretch of the highway.

The repair timeline indicates that the one-way traffic arrangement will be implemented on July 31, 2023, facilitating smoother travel for commuters. The final target is to reopen the road to all traffic in October 2023 fully.

Additional information, photos, and videos are available on the project website for those interested in staying updated on the project's progress. We will also continue to post updates on CA-84 until it is fully reopened. Questions about the project or signing up for a weekly newsletter can be directed to SR84slideupdates@dot.ca.gov.
