The repair work on State Route 84 near Woodside, San Mateo County, is underway. Since the slide occurred on March 9, 2023, the affected section of the conventional two-lane highway between Foxhill Road and Portola Road has remained closed to motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists.

The construction site is active, with various tasks to restore the damaged roadway. The following work is required for the repair:

1. Repairing the slope and constructing a retaining wall to ensure stability.

2. Reconstructing the roadway's structural section to bring it back to its original condition.

3. Implementing erosion control measures to prevent further damage.

4. Repairing the drainage system(s) to ensure proper water flow and prevent future issues.

Currently, the repair work focuses on stabilizing the lower slide and filling the southwest quadrant affected by the slide. The team completed the welding pile extension and is now painting 34 piles.

Furthermore, the construction crew is actively drilling and placing 34 50' piles into the lower slope to enhance stability. In addition to these efforts, the repair and replacement of the drainage system are being addressed, along with necessary culvert repairs and vegetation control along SR-84.

Despite the progress being made, it is essential to note that the road remains closed for the public's safety. Motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists are advised to seek alternate routes until the repair work is completed and the roadway is deemed safe for travel.

The repair team is working diligently to ensure the project's timely completion. Regular updates will be provided to keep the community informed about the progress.
