Multiple trucks were observed today, 03/25/23, at the slide. It appears there is drilling equipment at the site. This is in line with the following update shared by Caltrans. This does appear to be in line with the update that Caltrans provided on the 24th of March:
Good afternoon, all –
In follow-up to last Friday’s update regarding SR 84 (Woodside) road failure and slide (Post Mile 17.9), I have a new update to share with you.
The roadway continues to see significant changes. Caltrans continues to keep the roadway closed for the safety of Woodside residents and Caltrans personnel. As a safety precaution, very limited site visits by Caltrans and our Contractor are being done due to the stability of the roadway and hillside. The Caltrans Contractor is visiting the site as-needed to perform geotechnical borings to test the soil as part of the assessment of the roadway stability.
Caltrans has created a web page with a variety of information that will allow you to remain updated on the situation.
Highway 84 Emergency Storm Damage Repair
The webpage includes:
Overview and summary details
Traffic advisory date March 24 (others will be posted as they become available)
A brief video of the conditions
Two sets of “before” and “after” pictures showcasing the progression of the changes, dated Thursday, March 16 and Wednesday, March 22, 2023…
Best,
Chris
